We decided to venture out on a rainy midweek evening to dine at the Mint Bistro. Upon arriving in Manchester, the first order of business was to find a place to park which quickly turned into an adventure. The restaurant is located on Elm Street and of course (with my bad luck) there were no available on-street spaces. After driving around the same block a couple of times and with people watching probably getting a good laugh at my expense we ended up in a parking garage.

When we think of our favorite comfort foods there is mac and cheese, pizza, hamburgers, chowder, and meatloaf. Most of these we can make at home unless you're like us and prefer to have someone else make it for you. Anyway, there is one that is very difficult to prepare at home and that is fried seafood. You could buy one of those small fryers or set up a large commercial fryer in your kitchen but for most of us it is just better cooked by somebody else. With the smell of fried seafood permeating in our minds we took off on a recent warm day to Captain Frosty's on Cape Cod in Dennis, MA.

If you like a good restaurant story then there is none better than the husband and wife team who have opened a new restaurant in Hooksett which is aptly called Tucker’s which coincidentally is their last name. They are the previous owners of Maddie's in Salem which we had visited on a number of occasions. We were excited to see if their new venture would be as successful as Maddie’s so we headed south to find out.

Shortly after my wife and I started dating we were going out for dinner often and we tried just about every restaurant in Concord 10 times over. One of our favorite local restaurants became the Red Blazer in Concord. Located just off I 93 at exit 13 it is an ideal spot to stop on your way through New Hampshire or if you are visiting the capital region. Either way we think you will find that there is a lot to like.
