Back in 2011 they made a smart move to change the original concept of Michael Timothy's from a dining upscale establishment to that of a more casual environment using local ingredients. Thus MT Local was born. Buckley took a successful risk that few in the restaurant business seem capable of making.
Our journey was exemplified by a wait staff who are typical of their high service expectations. This means knowing the specials, asking the Chef to make accepted changes to menu items, keeping water glasses filled and staying attentive but not overbearing throughout the meal. The manager also checked in near the conclusion to ensure that all was satisfactory.
We started the meal with a grilled asparagus salad, beautifully presented with al dente spears, cherry tomatoes, red onions, Parmesan cheese and pine nuts.
Next, the tournedos of beef, scrumptiously topped with tomato and bacon atop a garlic crostini, then covered in a hollandaise sauce. Buckley and his team know how to cook steak and no surprise that this was a delectable combination.
And finally, lobster risotto and green beans. With 1 1/2 pounds of meat, this is a feast for lobster fans.
MT Local meets the standards that we all expect from Michael Buckley. To us, the MT should stand for mighty tasty.
