The chain has grown to 7 US locations and most of those are in the Midwest. There is a Granite State connection with one in Portsmouth on Vaughan Street. Recently, we had heard that they might be looking to expand with a new restaurant just over the border from Salem in Haverhill.
It is our understanding that the space could be at 2 Merrimack Street and NH Reviews went to explore in more detail. This looks like a mixed-use property. The top appears to be apartments with the lower levels for commercial lease and the structure is U shaped. A pretty walking path along the river in back adds to the appeal.
In terms of any restaurant, the exact location was unclear. The left side would be our best guess where spaces looked to be under development for a dining establishment.
Their menu offers build your own tacos with many different combinations along with taco creations from the Chef. Additional options are specialty dishes, adult cocktails, appetizers, and brunch.
We hope their potential expansion plans work out. Barrio would be a nice addition to the Haverhill dining scene.
