Linner at Latitudes in New Castle

All I can think of when I hear the name Latitudes is the Jimmy Buffet song Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes that reminds us of relaxing, boating, the ocean and all that is great about summer including dining on the water. And so it is at the restaurant Latitudes, located right in the marina at the Wentworth by the Sea in New Castle.

On a recent beautiful warm day this seemed like an ideal time to stop in for a visit. After watching the forecast for temperatures in the 90's and sunny this seemed like a no brainer. So I checked with my sweetie and we both agreed to head over for linner at Latitudes after a short trip to Maine. If you are wondering, linner is a word my wife coined for a meal that is half way between lunch and dinner.

One of the main reasons to go to the Latitudes are the views. Picture perfect, it doesn't get much better than this on the water in New Hampshire.

Along with their outdoor dining they also have indoor dining for those who would prefer air conditioning. Professional and classy with dark brown wood and a bank of windows you are still able to enjoy the waterfront view.

Our waitress came by and we looked over the drink menu and my wife selected a refreshing cocktail which had a light grapefruit flavor.

Next we looked over a small lunch menu that included appetizers, salads, sandwiches and a few specialties most of which are focused on seafood. For the appetizer we decided on the crab cake:

This was a nice presentation although the price seemed a little high for one at $12.00 dollars.

My linner selection was the rustic chicken sandwich:

A combination of sweet from a tomato jam that worked surprisingly well with goat cheese. The coleslaw was okay but seem to have very little dressing.

My wife chose their lobster roll:

Plenty of lobster with very little filler just the way she likes it.

And for chocoholics we selected the chocolate molten cake as our dessert, spectacular!

Our server did a good job, no problems

So there you have it, Latitudes, a beautiful location for lunch, dinner or linner. They also have another Latitudes in Key West for anyone visiting Florida. And don't forget about their new restaurant Salt that recently opened.

On our way out I had to snap a picture of the Wentworth by the Sea:

All run by Ocean Properties a company that I have written about before. Needless to say we are fans of their restaurants and hotels.
