Visit The Bagel Cafe in Bedford

It can be difficult to find a good bagel egg sandwich in New Hampshire and especially near where we live in the Concord area. There are many restaurants that make them with preformed eggs and then zap them in the microwave. Blah! We realize that it’s easier for the restaurant owners but the lack of real eggs cooked on a grill makes us unhappy.

Located in the former home of Louisa's Pizza on South River Road in Bedford is The Bagel Cafe. They really seem to know how to make a decent bagel and just to be sure that you know, there is a sign at the counter that states: All bagels made from scratch on premise". I may not be an expert on New York style bagels but these are pretty darn good.

The interior is small but they have seating for those that wish to sit down or you can take your order to go if you choose. When we walked in it was very busy which is always a positive sign in our eyes.

They have a variety of different style bagels on the menu along with homemade cream cheese, omelets, burritos, bacon, ham, sausage, home fries and of course their bagel sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Not only do you get a great bagel but they actually grill the eggs, no microwave here, sign me up:

What else can I say? I loved their bagel sandwich with bacon and the home fries were pretty good too with a spicy seasoning served piping hot from the kitchen.

So there you have it, try The Bagel Cafe if you want a really good bagel sandwich. They also have another location on Hanover Street in Manchester if that is closer.
