The food has more of a gastropub feel than that of just a tavern with reasonably priced entrees most of them under $20 that are presented and taste as if you should be paying a whole lot more.
From the pan roasted chicken breast that is packed with flavor
to the wonderful bite of the crispy salmon there is something for everyone.
Dessert was the ultimate fluffernutter, a special of the day. This was a no bake oat base covered with chocolate ganache, peanut butter mousse, and topped off with their home made toasted marshmallow. Congratulations to whoever came up with this creation! It was so good that we recommend adding it to the regular dessert menu.
The service was impressive, our waitress understood the menu and was able to provide several recommendations. Everything was timed perfectly as the communication between the wait staff and kitchen was right inline. Entrees came out of the back of the house quickly, no waiting for anyone that we could see at other tables either. Large glass water bottles were provided at the beginning of the meal so diners could keep their water glasses full at all times. A well-oiled machine that was humming along throughout our meal.
The Railpenny Tavern is the best restaurant in the greater Epping area based on our experience. The way to a customer’s heart is to exceed their expectations in every way and McSharry and team have done that well here.
