Believe it or not in a little over 5 weeks Thanksgiving Day will be upon us. You might be thinking, seriously, we haven't even gotten past Halloween yet but for anyone thinking about eating out the time is now to make a reservation.

One of our favorite holidays to hang out with family, stuff ourselves and maybe watch football. Some choose to eat out on this grand day and one of the major reasons is the time it takes to prepare the feast. Why not let someone else do the cooking so mom, grandma or whomever is usually preparing said meal can relax?
Before we jump to the list, this should be said. Most restaurants can handle turkey, stuffing and all the fixings and that means the service is going to tell the tale of most families experience. This is mentioned because one of our family Thanksgivings was ruined by a waitress who did not provide the smiling high level of service we expected. This was supposed to be a happy time and instead turned into a miserable memory that can never be erased. If you are a server on this special day you will make all the difference to your patrons.

- Hart's Turkey Farm, Meredith. They have a seating at 10:30 am and 10:45 am for early birds and then it is first come first serve from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Call (603)279-6212.
- Bedford Village Inn. Serving from noon to 6:00 pm they offer 4 courses at $69.00 per person. Call (603)472-2001.
- Wentworth By The Sea, Rye. In the ballroom they have a buffet at $54.95 per person and children $24.95 each. Then at SALT Kitchen & Bar and the Grand Dining Room there is a 3 course plated meal with the same previous prices. Call (603)373-6566.
- The Old Salt Restaurant. Hampton. Their first seating is at 11:00 am and last is at 5:00 pm. They have a special menu that includes turkey dinner, ham, prime rib, baked seafood pie, surf and turf along with roasted butternut squash ravioli. This had not been updated online when we inquired. Call (603)926-8322.
- The Mile Away in Milford serving from noon until 7 pm a 4 course meal for $27.95 per person. When we contacted them last week there was availability but not for parties over 6 people. Call (603)673-3904.
- Homestead. Merrimack and Bristol. They have three seatings at noon, 2:30 pm or 5:00 pm. The price is $29.00 per person. Call (603)429-2022 for Merrimack or Bristol at (603)744-2022.
- Mountain View Grand. Whitefield has a buffet from noon to 5:00 pm at $60.00 for adults $25 each for children. Reservations required at (855)837-2100.
Here are a few more for anyone close to the border who might be looking for options in Massachusetts.
- Gibbet Hill Grill. Groton, MA started taking reservations on September 15th and had limited availability when we inquired. They are offering a 3 course price fixed menu that is not finalized but should include a turkey, beef and fish option priced between $40.00 and $68.00 per person. Call (978)448-2900.
- Artistry on the Green. Lexington, MA. A short drive from Nashua, they have a 3 course menu for $65.00 per person, family style at $50.00 each and children’s menu at $25.00 available from 11:30 am to 7:00 pm. Reservations required at (781)301-6655.
- Wayside Inn. Sudbury, MA. This is a beautiful spot and worth a drive from NH if you can score a table. Set your alarm for early on October 23rd when they start taking Thanksgiving reservations at 7:00 am and are typically sold out within a few hours. The price is usually around $40.00 and there were no additional details available. Call (978)443-1776. Just down the road there is the grist mill that looks like something out of a post card.
