Chez Vachon a Good Option for Breakfast in Manchester

Several weeks ago, we happened to catch a preview for New Hampshire Chronicle about an upcoming story on a breakfast place called Chez Vachon located in Manchester. Since I had never heard of the restaurant and thinking I was aware of every breakfast haunt within 30 miles of us I asked my wife if she had ever heard of the place. Of course she said although she had never ventured in and kind of forgot about it. Seeing the promo on New Hampshire Chronicle jogged her memory. Needless to say we had to stop by for breakfast as soon as possible.

We headed out on a Monday morning for breakfast and this French-American restaurant seemed busy for an early weekday. The decor is basic with bland colors along with a large area that includes some tables and booths. There were also some cards on the tables that talked about their new Montreal style smoked meats.

The menu had all of the usual breakfast items including something that you don't see that often on New Hampshire menus, crepes. More restaurants should offer these as a breakfast option. They also have Poutine which is a dish of French fries covered in cheese curds and brown gravy. You can take their 5 pounds of Poutine challenge. If by some chance you can finish it all in 1 hour you get it for free and your picture on the wall.

Per my usual, I got two eggs over medium, home fries and their link sausage.

The potatoes are different from standard home fries because they have no skin, we approve. The links had a nice crunch along with a strong flavor.

My wife went with the chocolate chip crepes.

Light and fluffy with a ton of chocolate chips inside she enjoyed these.

So there you have it, Chez Vachon seems to have all you need for a good breakfast option in the greater Manchester area. Hope to see you on the west side soon.
