Rumor: Five Guys looking to expand in Concord

For fans of Five Guys’ fabulous hamburgers and fries there may be some good news for all those who live and/or work in the capital region. Word on the street is that they are looking at a space in Concord.

It began about a month ago when my wife was visiting the Hallmark store in Concord at the Fort Eddy Plaza when she noticed a sign indicating that the store was moving to a larger location down the row where the Dress Barn was previously. Always on the lookout for the latest news, she couldn’t help herself so she asked what would be moving into the Hallmark store and was told a Five Guys. Below is the space:

According to someone we spoke to at the Hallmark a team from Five Guys spent several hours measuring the space inside the store. Since there has been a delay in Hallmark’s move into the new space, whoever is moving in whether it is Five Guys or another store they will have to wait a little longer.

We emailed corporate at Five Guys to try and confirm this and they were unaware of any plans to open a store at this location. We will all just have to wait and see but for those who love Five Guys we certainly hope this is true. This seems to be a great fit for the chain as there is plenty of parking and it is easy on and off the highway for those traveling throughout the state during ski season as well as the summer months.

Five Guys has seven locations in New Hampshire, one in Derry, Dover, Keene, Manchester, West Lebanon, two in Nashua and another opening in Portsmouth.

{Editors Note:  A story in the Concord Monitor confirmed that the rumors are true and Five Guys is  planning to open in Concord early next year}
