Starbucks To Open Inside Concord Target

There is good news for all of the Starbucks fans in the Concord area. They are opening inside of Target.

This will be their second location with another already at 240 Loudon Road. The renovation of the food area is already underway on the right side just after walking through the front doors. Previously, there was a small seating space with concessions sold including popcorn.  The estimated time for completion is about three months. 

It is an interesting concept having two Starbucks this close to each other. They must think that there is enough demand to support more than one store or perhaps tapping a different market segment altogether in retail. This is not a new idea for either company as I have already seen this done at other Target locations.

When the first Starbucks opened in Concord many years ago I had my doubts. After all, this was Dunkin' Donuts country and I wondered how they could compete. To my surprise, the store has done well and appears to have a base of loyal customers if the lines of cars waiting in the drive-through are any indication.

Visits to their current location have been nonexistent for me but shopping at Target happens more frequently and there may be many more who fit the same profile. Once open, this should increase the probability of coffee lovers grabbing a cup on the go mainly for the convenience.
