The True Tale at Pigtale

My husband and I decided to try Pigtale in Nashua on a recent Saturday night. When NH Reviews arrived, the very small space was busy but that is to be expected on a weekend. There are several tables jammed into the one dining room. Apparently, we were seated in the last available seats. We waited for a longer than acceptable amount of time before the waitress stopped by to greet us. So, we settled in and decided on drinks - I chose the sangria and he ordered a beer.

Not having dined here before, we relied on the waitress to offer guidance which she should have been able to do without hesitation. However, that wasn't the case. She recited the menu that was in front of us and when I asked about the evening's specials, she said there weren't any. The restaurant is known for their pizza which I wasn't in the mood for so I mulled over the menu. We weren't overly hungry so we decided to forgo an appetizer and went straight to the main course. I opted for the chicken while my husband selected the pepperoni pizza.

As I noted earlier the tables are very close together so you can easily have a conversation with those around you. In our case, the closeness made me realize just how long it was taking for our meal to arrive. The tables on either side of us (both parties seated after us) ordered appetizers which arrived in a few short minutes. We continued to wait for our food. Because of my keen powers of observation (drives hubby crazy), I decided that I had enough and I sought out a manager. He apologized that the kitchen is small and that it was backed up this evening. This didn't sit well with me since it's the same kitchen which produced the food that was served to our neighbors before us! I then mentioned that the waitress never came back over to inform us of the status of our dinner to which he replied that he was sorry. He offered to comp another round of drinks but we said no. Honestly, by this point, I just wanted to run out of there.

When the food finally arrived, it was good. My chicken was tender and the skin was cooked crispy which I do enjoy. My husband ate almost his entire pizza but I don't know if it was because it was that good or because he was starving while waiting for his meal.

I can speculate as to what happened but it seems the most logical explanation is that the waitress may have forgotten to put in our order. While the meal was good, the experience was terrible and we decided that we won't be returning.
