Elephantine Bakery Coming Soon To Portsmouth

A new bakery is coming soon to Portsmouth, Elephantine is on the way.

The owner, Sherif, is following his heart and dreams with this new venture. Having worked in the corporate world for years, he was searching for something more in life. A favorite hobby was baking and one week a few years back, he took a trip to Paris for a week-long baking class. Unable to contain his excitement, Sherif enrolled in a much more intense program to build on what had already been learned.

After returning to the seacoast, he started running the bakery out of his home under the name Farag Breads and also selling his Mediterranean influenced pastries and breads at local farmers markets.

The time was right to take a giant next step and Sherif has done that with Elephantine, named after an island on the Nile River where an old bakery was discovered. They are planning to open by the end of summer but no definitive date has been set. Additionally, online ordering of their breads and pastries is temporarily on hold so they can put their energy into launching the new space.

NH Reviews will be cheering for their success and we look forward to trying their baked goods once open. Let’s get behind this one and help Sherif get the word out and make his dreams come true.
