He is proposing and is moving forward with a redevelopment of the property at 56 Main Street under the name Clark’s Restaurants, LLC. The details are an authentic Italian restaurant under the name Ciao Italia Ristorante, wine bar, Italian market, and event center for a total estimate of 6,000 square feet. The renovation would include the basement and first floor along with the creation of a 1 story building in the back for a new kitchen in the old storage space to be torn down.
Mr. Clark sees the area as severely lacking in upscale dining establishments with all the UNH students, families, and businesses who are seeking these options that do not currently exist. His vision is to meet the needs of this market while at the same time helping to revitalize downtown.
Just like Doug, we attended UNH and know the area well. NH Reviews supports his project and believes that moving forward is warranted.
The town planners review from May 8th recommended the board accept his application as complete with some conditions, schedule a site walk and a public hearing on June 12th. The planning board approved their revised construction plans from June 12th with some conditions.
