Dough Craft Pizza and Beer Is On The Way To Portsmouth

You might think someone just won the lottery on the seacoast by the title. No, unfortunately, a bundle of cash was not just dropped on the city streets but for fans of dining out, it might be just as good.

If our sources are correct, Dough is actually the name of a new restaurant that is opening in Portsmouth at 2484 Lafayette Road.  It is our understanding that this is the old location of the now out of business 900 Degrees.

The food will focus on an artisanal brick oven pizza concept along with oysters, salads, and bowls. They are expected to have a wide selection of craft beer and wine.  The restaurant has seating for 100 guests.

NH Reviews likes to look at the competition when thinking about a new dining establishment moving into the area.  What should they include to be successful?

Our favorite, just down the road in Kittery, Maine is When Pigs Fly Pizzeria and is a good place to start. Their pies are thin and delicious with a variety of toppings.  They don’t skimp on the sides either with hand-cut french fries on the menu.  And if you prefer something other than pizza, you will be covered here as well.  The topper for us is dessert and the brownie sundae.

We hope that Dough offers something similar. The timing of opening is sometime in November.
