Dough Is On The Way To Portsmouth

You might think someone just won the lottery on the seacoast by the title. No, unfortunately, a bundle of cash was not just dropped on the city streets but for fans of dining out, it might be just as good.

If our sources are correct, Dough is actually the name of a new restaurant that we understand is opening in Portsmouth. Although the details are minimal at this point, here is our brief understanding of what is on the horizon.

The food will focus on an artisanal brick oven pizza concept.  They will also have a wide selection of craft beer and wine.

NH Reviews likes to look at the competition when thinking about a new dining establishment moving into the area.  What should they include to be successful?

Our favorite, just down the road in Kittery, Maine is When Pigs Fly Pizzeria and is a good place to start. Their pies are thin and delicious with a variety of toppings.  They don’t skimp on the sides either with hand-cut french fries on the menu.  And if you prefer something other than pizza, you will be covered here as well.  The topper for us is dessert and the brownie sundae.

We hope that Dough offers something similar. The timing of opening is sometime this fall.
