Buckley’s Great Steaks, Merrimack, New Hampshire, A wonderful experience

Have you ever been to a restaurant where everything is as good as you expected? Buckley’s Great Steaks is such a place and it is that and much more. I have to give Michael Buckley credit for turning this location into a successful restaurant after a number of others had failed.

To begin, I decided to make a reservation on open table and requested a quiet area away from any large tables. When we arrived after a few minutes we were escorted quickly to a small room with just a few tables so there was very little noise as requested. This surprised me because I thought a problem might occur because I had booked the reservation on line and hadn’t confirmed it by phone.

For starters, we went with the Tempura Fried Lobster, now let me tell you that I am not a big fan of lobster because many years ago I worked for a company that did lobster bakes 5 days a week and that’s all I ate so unfortunately I got burned out on lobster. Anyway, I ordered this dish more for my companion who loves lobster a lot more than I do. What I thought would be a small appetizer turned out to be a huge pile of tender fried goodness. My companion was ecstatic and I have to admit even for me it was pretty good.

Both of us had a small filet and they were cooked just right. There are a number of different sauces you can try and of the two that we tried, the roasted garlic demi glaze and horseradish sour cream the later was our favorite.

Finally, we had chocolate mousse for desert that was rich, creamy and a wonderful end to a great evening.

Our server did a great job, everything was timed perfectly and she crumbed the table which is always appreciated because I am a messy eater.

As we were leaving I heard a women at from a table next to ours talking to the manager about how wonderful her experience was. I guess we weren’t the only ones and I’m sure there were many more. Buckley's Great Steaks Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
