Restaurant Review, Valentino's, Hudson, New Hampshire, Stuffed

As we walked into Valentino's I thought about my first visit many years ago after the restaurant first opened. It was a family event around Christmas time and the only thing I remember is that Silent Night was playing over and over again on their sound system and throughout the entire meal. Looking back I laugh about this now but I think Valentino's has come a long way since then.

The interior consists of a bar in the middle with two large rooms for dining on the left and right. The atmosphere is nothing special and serves the purpose of providing what is needed for this family style restaurant.

We were promptly seated by the hostess and after we all got comfortable our waitress came by and took our drink order.

I looked over an extensive menu that included many of what you might consider old italian favorites such as chicken parm, comfort foods like chicken pot pie and sandwiches. Since we were there for lunch, I decided to go with the meatball parm sandwich. They were very busy and I was impressed that it did not take a long time for the food to arrive. When it arrived it was a huge sandwich cut in half with fries and marinara sauce. Let me say this, the meatballs were fantastic, I like them meaty without a lot of breadcrumbs and these were wonderful as were the fries – they are thinner and wider than regular fries and a lot better. A couple of others at our table got the chicken parm sandwich and there were no complaints.

For dessert we had a warm brownie with warm chocolate sauce and whipped cream that was delicious.

If you are a dessert snob it is my understanding that all of their desserts are home made.

Our waitress was quick and efficient and did a good job.

So there you have it, I recommend Valentino's for their food, when I left I was stuffed and that's enough for me.
